Ian has over 15 years of teaching fly fishing and fly casting behind him, instructing in all methods. His courses range from basic casting instruction, for those new to game angling, to advanced instruction for the more experienced angler, including those who wish to become professional instructors themselves. He works closely with a number of associates based throughout the UK who are all highly skilled and experienced, allowing those who wish to improve their fishing skill access to recommended instructors within easy reach of where they live. Ian's fly fishing courses run from 1 day to 7 days and take place throughout the UK and include salmon, sea trout and trout fishing. As a fly tyer Ian has an International reputation and runs several courses each year specialising in particular methods of fly tying. Ian is in demand as a demonstrator, providing casting demonstrations at game and country fairs, he also regularly demonstrates fly tying techniques.

Fly Fishing Instruction can be arranged for individuals or small groups on an hourly basis (minimum 2 hours tuition). All single handed fly rod casting including double-haul and all double-handed salmon rod casting including spey casting (double spey and single spey cast), snake roll and other specialist casts. Fly Casting Courses are arranged on a 1, 2, 3 or 7 day basis at different times of the year with tuition for all levels of experience from beginner to experienced. Courses are available on Salmon river fishing including spey casting, Sea trout fishing (night fishing a speciality), Trout and Grayling river fishing, fly fishing tuition for pike and stillwater fly fishing. Accommodation is arranged for courses when required. All tuition is by APGAI (Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructor) level instructors

Fly Tying Courses can be arranged with tuition for individuals or small groups on a daily basis. These courses are available for all levels of experience, from beginner to highly experienced and include instruction on trout dry fly, wet fly and lures. Salmon hairwings, tube flies and traditional fully dressed. Ian Moutter also holds tuition courses on tying "Paraloop" flies, for which he is recognised as the leading exponent.
