Learning how to develop the skills involved in fly fishing adds an extra something to the experience of fishing that is difficult to describe. Put simply it is having the knowledge and ability to do the job well, this alone adds tremendous satisfaction to your fishing. Anyone with a little knowledge can catch fish, but few people can present the fly in an effective manner under different conditions. Good tuition helps provide and develop these skills.

Over the years I have met many fly fisherman who have spent a large part of their life fishing with the fly. What is amazing is that after so long, their ability to deliver the fly is so often underdeveloped and limited. Good tuition will have an immediate effect on the person willing to accept that their technique, or lack of technique, can be improved.

Other benefits from having the knowledge and skill, is you can fish where you want in any weather conditions and to be able to approach any fishing situation with confidence, whether it be a tiny overgrown chalkstream, or mighty river, wild mountain loch or vast reservoir.

In the hands of a good instructor you will learn more about casting and presenting the fly in an hour, than some angler learn in a lifetime.
