The Paraloop method of tying, when used for tying dry flies, allows the fished fly to sit low in the water. This makes it an ideal method to use when tying emergers, spinners and spent spinners. Having said that the method can be applied to most types of flies.

Cut off the excess loop and hackle, if using GSP remember to cut under tension as it will not cut otherwise. Now wind the thread in flat turns to the hook bend.

Tie in the tails and then dub the thread and form a tapered body shape with the thread ending at the tail end. The final turns of the dubbed thread at the tail should be very tight.

Take a dark colour permanent ink pen and colour the thread for a distance of about 1 inch.

Wind the dark coloured thread up the body in equal distanced turns to form the rib. Then tie off using a whip finish directly between the body and the thorax. Et voila!! you now have a Paraloop fly without a head, no need to wind down through a hackle and as flexible to apply to any pattern you wish as any method I know
