Caberston on the Tweed

Salmon Taken on the River Tweed, David's first salmon for 25 years phew!!!in October on the River Tweed. A great week even with the gale force winds and rising river. The group was first class company, the fishing excellent and we ended up with 16 salmon and 3 sea trout.

Fly Casting & Fly Tying Tuition

backTrout Casting Tuition (Single Handed Rods)

Ian Moutter in his kilt, giving casting instruction to Lord Hume-Robertson the then minister for fisheries Scotland. No comment on the standard achievedTrout casting tuition can be arranged for one person and small groups and is tailored for each individual requirements.
Tuition for beginners concentrates on basic casting skills and straightforward control of the fly line when using the trout rod (single handed rod). It is designed to give a solid base for developing further skills and to provide confidence when first starting out in fly fishing.
Tuition for Improvers assumes that the basic skills have been achieved and that the client has a reasonable amount of fly fishing experience. Techniques taught are :- all hauling methods including double haul, dynamic roll casts including spey casting with the single handed rod and proper control and application of casting techniques.
Tuition for Advanced Level Including Instructor Level tuition at this level relies on the client being capable in all the main techniques and wishing to progress to a highly proficient standard, including recognised professional coach/instructor standards.

All trout casting tuition is charged at £40.00 per hour with a minimum time of 2 hours. ________________________________________________________________

Salmon Casting Tuition (Double Handed Rod)

Fishing on the Goosendale pool above the Cauld as the twilight sets in. On the River Tweed in October 2006. Mr Stewart Oakes gets to grips with the double handed rod after some basic tuition.

Salmon casting tuition can be arranged for one person and small groups and is tailored for each individual requirements.
Tuition for beginners concentrates on basic casting skills and straightforward control of the fly line when using the salmon rod (double handed rod). It is designed to give a solid base for developing further skills and to provide confidence when first starting out fishing for salmon. The casts taught are Overhead, Roll and Double spey cast
Tuition for Improvers assumes that the basic skills have been achieved and that the client has a reasonable amount of salmon fly fishing experience. Techniques taught are :- dynamic roll casts including jump roll, single spey, double spey and snake roll. Including why and when to use particular casts
Tuition for Advanced Level Including Instructor Level tuition at this level relies on the client being capable in all the main techniques and wishing to progress to a highly proficient standard, including recognised professional coach/instructor standards.

All salmon casting tuition is charged at £40.00 per hour with a minimum time of 2 hours.
